The Friday Happy

My Friday Happy:

1.  Yay, hafla on Saturday! A hafla is a middle eastern dance party. There are some performances, but mainly it is an opportunity to hang out and dance.  A friend and I have been working on a duet.  It's our first one.  I think it is going to be pretty cool.  We plan on doing it at the Winter Showcase.

2.  Yay, the crazy dance practices are almost over, LOL.  (Art Melt two weeks ago, now the hafla) I have thoroughly enjoyed all the extra dancing, but my brain is itching to start writing again and there just isn't enough time to do both.  I guess I only have enough time and energy for one creative endeavor at a time.

3.  Personal relationships are doing well.  I have been really focusing on a lot of the things that hold me back and get in my way.  It is a struggle, but I feel like I am making progress.

4.  School starts soon and my daughter will be off to her dorm.

5.  I have started keeping strict track of the nutritional value of my food, especially my protein/carb balance.  I've dropped 3 lbs this week for a whopping total of 8 lbs and several inches over the last two month.  That is much slower than I would like, but at least it is progress.  I think the "age = slow metabolism" adage is starting to kick in.

6.  Favorite quote of the week from Louise Hay, "I am the gardener of my mind.  I remove all the weeds and plant positive new ideas in their place."

7.  I think I'm going to take a few days off of work next week before the new session kicks in two weeks from now.
