Rocky Horror Picture Show

The Rocky Horror Show Tickets

Well Saturday night me and at least 50 of my wacky friends got together for a Rocky Horror showing.  It was great.  The lady hosting the party had never seen RH and had a blast.  There were 3 Franks, all of whom looked good.  There were A LOT of Columbias, 2 Magentas, 2 Eddies, 1 Brad, 1 bride, many party goes (I was one of those), and lots of other folks dressed up in whatever just for the hell of it.  I had wanted to go as Janet (bra, undies, and a lab coat), but my hubby made some comments about it so I didn't

There was a big pile of audience participation supplies for those that didn't bring their own: water guns - full, snack bags of rice, little melba toasts also in snack bags, cards, newspaper, party blowers and poppers.  Everyone was having way too much fun with the water guns even before the movie started.  I kept getting squirted in the ear and the back of the head by someone (I knew who it was).  The guy next to me offered me his water gun to get her back.  I turned it down because I had RICE!  I waited for the wedding scene and when people started tossing rice, I turned around and pegged her square with a big hand-full.  Then it was an all out rice war across the hole room.  By the time we were done with the rice, I think there were several pounds on the floor.

After that it was your general wild RH showing.  One of the most interesting things was the audience participation.  There were so many people from so many different areas, that there were different lines.  It was really cool to here the differences.  Sometime one group would say something, then another group would say something different which just happened to play off of what group one said, then the movie line which played off of them both.  It was great.  There was lots of dancing on stage by the different characters and whole time-warping audience at their chairs.

One of the funniest things was toward the end of the movie, when the picture on the screen goes round and round, two people crouched down at the bottom of the t.v. (it was a big screen t.v.) and "rotated" the picture.  When it stopped, another guy who was crouching down at the edge of the stage, went running across the stage and slammed into the wall - that centrifugal force is a killer you know.

We all had a blast!  When the movie was over we all pitched in on cleaning up.  Two vacuum cleaners were broken out, chairs were getting turned over so the rice could be brushed out, I went around picking up confetti, toast, cards, and other things the vacuums weren't going to be able to pick up.  I was amazed at how fast the clean up went.  I think there was almost as much fun cleaning up as we had messing it up.

After all of that, the party continued minus some out-of-town folks that wanted to get back home.  I pumpkined on a couch at about 1:30 , woke up around 3 looked around stuff was still going one, went back to sleep, woke up again at 4 and told hubby it was time to go.

There are some cute pictures floating around on cameras.  I saw some last night.  I'll try and post a couple if I can get permission from the people in them.

Yay Rocky Horror!
